Monday Reset

I've noticed something about this season of life.

On weekends, the dishes may wait a little longer. The laundry basket may fill up. The mail may sit unopened on the counter.

Not because I don't care about those things, but because my husband wants to spend time together. Family gathers. Grandchildren need hugs. Conversations stretch longer than planned. Memories are being made.

And honestly? I'm grateful.

For years, I thought a well-run home meant staying caught up on everything. These days, I'm learning something different.

My home isn't a showroom. It's the backdrop for a life well lived.

It's where coffee is shared around the table. Where stories are told. Where laughter echoes through the rooms. Where people feel welcome to come as they are.

The dishes can wait while we make memories.

The laundry can wait while we sit on the porch and talk.

The clutter can wait while we enjoy the people God has given us.

So I've stopped trying to squeeze every chore into the weekend.

Instead, Monday has become my reset day. Not a frantic race to catch up. Not a marathon of productivity. Just a gentle return to order. I put on some music, pour a cup of coffee, and slowly work my way through the house. I tidy, sort, fold, and straighten. One task at a time. One room at a time.

There is a peace that comes from realizing everything doesn't have to happen all at once. The house can serve its purpose without being perfect. And on Monday, with a grateful heart, I reset and begin again.

Maybe slowing down isn't falling behind.

Maybe it's finally learning what matters most.

And maybe a well-loved home isn't the one that always looks perfect, it's the one filled with people who know they belong there.

❤️ Laura
